About Project:

As a Product Designer for Array, my aim was to design an app that simplifies the moving process. I focused on creating a clean and functional interface, ensuring users can easily find movers, filter reviews, compare prices, and track their move — all in a few simple steps.

847,100

people moved to New York and moved from it between 2021 and 2022

What was the problem?

If you go to Google and search for moving services in NYC, you'll get a long list of moving companies. The problem with that is, just to check the price for moving two of your boxes, you have to go back and forth between each of the links. Navigating the crowded landscape of moving services in New York City is overwhelming, with users struggling to find reliable movers amid numerous options. The app aims to streamline this process, providing a one-stop solution for both service providers and those in need of moving assistance.

Who is the Supposed Target Audience?

Movers

  • Individual Movers

  • Established Moving Companies

Residents

Individuals or families planning to move within/out of/to New York.

Research

In order to gather valuable insights for the app design, I conducted both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Qualitative research included interviews with 5 participants, while quantitative research consisted of an online survey completed by 20 respondents. Through these research methods, I was able to gather valuable insights that informed the design of the app, including features and user experience.

User Interview Evaluation: Movers

“Finding clients can be a struggle in such a competitive market. Having a platform where I can showcase my services to a wider audience would be a game-changer”.

Onboarding Screens

Obstacles

I would like to stop here at this screen.

As I have mentioned a few times this app is also about helping those individuals with vehicles to get a side hustle. However, after my research on the legality of this project, I learned that individual movers need to have company under them even with their single vehicle in order to move people in NYC. So unfortunately it will not make any difference in the sign-in process between individual movers and moving companies.
